Impacting the Culture of Our Nation with The Light of God's Word
WE BELIEVE HISTORY IS ABOUT TO BE MADE! The Lord is directing us to return to the New York City stage with the keys of the Kingdom of heaven in our hands (Matthew 16:19) to shake up the theatre world with "Rabboni," the critically acclaimed, award-winning Jewish Gospel musical which we wrote and produced starting in Los Angeles in 1981, and then off-Broadway in New York City at The Perry Street Theatre in 1985, exactly 20 years ago.
You may have seen the show live or The 700 Club feature story which aired three weeks before the scheduled Broadway premiere at The Minskoff Theatre on December 21, 1985, but was suspended before it opened due to the failure of a financial commitment. But it did effectively set the stage for what's about to happen. The veil needs to be removed from Jewish eyes before the end is upon us or before future police action makes it impossible.
What happened on 9/11 and again in London on 7/7 is the wake up call that the time of terror and calamity has arrived and the time of Jewish and Christian trouble is indeed on the threshold. Now is the time to deliver the Lord's message: "Let My people go!"
A few months ago while in flight to ministry meetings in California, I heard the still small voice of the Lord say, "Jeremiah, pick up where you left off and finish what you started for Me. Prepare your musicals for Broadway and for motion pictures. You have a track record. It will be easier for you now than it was before!"
Accordingly, we are reviving "Rabboni," the first of our three-part trilogy, onto the Broadway stage. The other two parts will follow. We will be featuring the "spine-tingling" Messianic Jewish virtuoso violinist, Maurice Sklar, who headlined in the exciting "Shalom, Jerusalem" production along with Paul Wilbur. He and Devorah, his wife, told us that they were "stunned" at the beauty of the music when they listened to "The Rabboni Pre-Broadway Cast Recording."
The show has universal appeal but is a lamplighter to the Jewish people and a glamourous invitation to come under the "shadow of His wings" before the trouble starts. You see, the largest contingent of Jewish people in the world other than in Israel lives in the New York City area, which just happens to be the theatre capital of the world. It has been reported that over 50% of theatregoers are Jewish in this city of over 2 million Jewish people.
In 1985, their romance with the theatre amazingly drew audiences of Jewish people night after night to see our musical; many found their Messiah. Now, it's time to revive "Rabboni" from the dead and hopefully He will touch your heart to become a part of the financial miracle necessary to give "Rabboni" new life!
The first step in our plan to bring "Rabboni" to Broadway will be to revive it at a mid-size off-Broadway theatre before shifting it to a major Broadway theatre. We plan to begin with a staged reading in New York City on September 26, 2005. This requires raising offerings and front money of about $150,000 of the total capitalization of approximately $1 million dollars for the off-Broadway leg of the journey; the Broadway budget is estimated to be $15 million dollars.
With the typical 2% return on Certificates of Deposit, I believe there are far greater riches for those who have willing hearts to give joyfully for the work of the Kingdom of God, like my Mother did when she invested over $200,000 in "Mendel & Moses," which we produced in 1997 in Los Angeles at The Century City Playhouse and then at The Canon Theatre in Beverly Hills. My darling Mom invested the money in the production when the Lord said to her, "Give it with your whole heart." Even though my Mom and Dad passed away before having the pleasure of seeing my musicals make it all the way to Broadway, imagine their blessing in heaven, where they are happily together forever, when the Lord allows them to witness the resurrection of "Rabboni" in New York City.
The immense popularity of Mel Gibson's film, "The Passion of The Christ," which generated almost half a billion dollars in profits, bears witness to the popularity of a Gospel-based theatrical investment. The net profits earned by great Broadway shows can be enormous. And the critics agreed that our musicals were first-rate and unforgettable.
Now is the time for those who can afford to invest to stand up and be counted! "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!" (Joshua 24:15)
In adddition to an investment opportunity, we also offer a Sponsorship program. For a minimum donation of $1,000 your name, or the name of your congregation or business, or the name of someone you wish to honor or memorialize will be listed in the Program. You will also receive two free tickets to the September event in Manhattan. This is an historic project and we believe that many of you will feel yourselves instructed by His Spirit to become a part of this great work for Zion's sake, as my Mother was, and will be blessed for it as she and my Father were.
Not everyone can become an Official Sponsor, but every gift is significant. For a donation of $100 to help blaze vital new trails for the Lord to the Jewish people in New York City with a showcase performance of "Rabboni" this September, we will send you a gift of a colorful 30-minute promotional video containing highlights from both of our award-winning musicals which are full of Jewish humor, Bible-based family entertainment and thrilling music. For a donation of $200, we will add "The Rabboni Pre-Broadway Cast Recording" that Maurice and Devorah called "Stunning!" which features Marty Goetz singing the 5 songs of Yeshua.
